Yarn sits at the Mehler facility in Germany waiting to be moved to the weaving machines where it will become the bases of CY4EZ™, an extraordinary technical marine cover fabric.
-
The yarn is placed on the weaving machine to be transformed into a fabric with a superior strength to weight ratio.
-
The fabric's might is derived from the quantity and strength of the yarn in the weave. Technical fabrics use very tight weaves with no voids. Both the strength and weakness of lower-end laminated fabrics can easily be seen in a waffle like grid. The grid is strong and the voids are weak.
-
The fabric is backlit and checked for any imperfections. Mehler has been producing technical textiles as defined today (with polyester fabrics) since 1954 and is one of the current leaders producing over 60 million yards of fabric annually. Jeff Smith was able to visit the subcontracted weaving mill in Germany of the coated fabric he made standard for EZ2CY. How ironic he found a company that could produce a better product in Germany.

Pigments are used in the PVC mix to achieve the desired color specified by CY4EZ™.
-
Once the proper specifications and color is achieved the materials are moved to the coating machines.
-
The PVC mixture is applied to the woven fabric in a precise procedure that has proven to produce an astonishing bond between the two materials. Mehler began producing PVC coated textiles in 1944 and is a leader in this process.
-
The combination of this coating on the polyester weave produces superior marine cover fabrics worthy of the name CY4EZ™. The width of 86.5 inches makes fabrication of covers with minimum seams possible.
-
The fabrics go through rigorous testing and documentation to meet CY4EZ™ standards and ISO 9001.2008 Certification. This test is for adhesion . . .
-
This is testing the seam strength . . .
-
This is testing the tear factor . . .
-
This is the machine that tests for tensile strength . . .
-
And this is biax testing.

Once the CY4EZ™ fabrics pass the stringent certification they are shipped from Germany to a sixty thousand square foot warehouse in Virginia where they are ready to be shipped to your favorite fabricator.
